HifzAI uses OpenAI Whisper, which is highly accurate for Quranic Arabic including full diacritics (tashkeel), variant alif forms, and ta marbuta. Our custom Arabic text normalizer ensures fair comparison between your recitation and the Mushaf text.

Muraja'ah uses the SM-2 algorithm (the same one used by Anki) to schedule your review sessions. After each AI analysis, you rate how well you know each verse. The app then surfaces the verses you're most likely to forget at the optimal time.

Ikhtabar lets you test your memorization by voice. Select a surah or juz, and the app picks 5 random verses. You recite each one and get scored by the AI — just like a real hifz test.

Hide Mode hides the Quran text word-by-word as you recite. Words only reveal themselves when you speak them correctly. It's perfect for testing how much you've actually memorized without looking.

HifzAI includes three built-in reciters: Hussain BS, Mohamed Al-Minshawi, and Mahmoud Al-Husairy. You can adjust playback speed, repeat a single verse 3-25 times, or loop an entire page.

Yes, you can download surahs for offline reading and audio playback. AI recording feedback requires an internet connection since it uses cloud-based transcription.

Yes! HifzAI is free to download and use. All features including the Mushaf reader, Ikhtabar quiz mode, Muraja'ah spaced repetition, and AI feedback are available at no charge.

Audio recordings are sent to OpenAI Whisper for transcription and are not permanently stored on our servers. Temporary processing cache is deleted within 24 hours. Practice statistics (surahs practiced, accuracy, streaks) are stored securely in Supabase.

Yes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption. Our database uses encryption at rest and row-level security. We follow industry-standard security practices.
